My Dad (aka Parker Chapin) and I don’t get to play together that often, so it was especially nice to be able to record this waltz with him. It’s from Frédéric Paris’ Carnet de Bal cassette. I remember we played it together for the first time a few years ago at a cousin’s wedding.

I love that photo: your dad sits in the exact same position with the exact same expression that he used to have back in the family room in the lower level of your South Plainfield house.

That was charming! But what’s he saying at the end? “You messed up the start of bar 12, son”. You are lucky. My dad would occasionally sing ‘Yellow Rose of Texas’ whilst doing something practical around the house, but music wasn’t his thing.
